As an Application Engineer in our Diebold Electronic Security Division you will need to formulate an engineered estimate and or budget for new and existing clients that shall be provided by consultants, engine! ers, construction managers, and general contractors and also from in-house Sales Representatives, Key Account Representatives and or Project Managers.

This position is located in our Elmsford, NY location.

Some ess ential functions of this position include:
Review solicitations to evaluate and determine initial "go / no-go" decision

Product selection and application (to ensure the right product is used in the right application) while maintaining adherence to Diebold's product selection process and design standards.

Preparation of Qualifications, Submittals, Requests for Information and Proposals

Design and Engineering of integrated security systems, including but not limited to:

Digital Video Surveillance Systems

Access Control Systems

Intrusion Detection & Monitoring Systems

Security Audio/Video Intercommunication Systems

Identification Badging Systems

Dedicated IT! Network Communication System

Wireless Transmission o! f Data

Computer, Video Walls & Storage Configuration

Perimeter Detection System

Console and Furniture for Security Command Centers

Programmable Logic Control Systems (PLC)

Physical Security Information Management Systems (PSIM)

Estimate installation costs in conjunction with Implementation Operations, Service Operations, Internal Labor and External Labor

Review of Field Site Survey documents and drawings.

Work closely with sales and service team in pre and post sale situations by being the product expert

Provide first line engineering support to sales team and or clients

Act as main interface between sales team and Diebold vendor partners and marketing

Act as main interface between sales team and Diebold Architectural and Engineering Services

Act as conduit and assist for pre-sale drawings as required by client, sub-contractors, consultants, etc.

Act as an in! terface for the Diebold PSR team

Act as conduit for pre-sale submittal packages as required by client, sub-contractors, consultants, etc.

Develop client training programs in the pre-sales stages.

Plan and coordinate sales and technical training for new products and suppliers

Supports the RFI, RFP, RFQ and RFM&S process as needed

Manage assigned projects as required.

Assists in the support and coordination of sales training, leads, technical training, major presentations, major proposals, product launches, service agreements, design and applications assistance, supplier interfaces, national account coordination, and competitive product analysis

Create estimates and budgets for access control, intrusion, cctv, intercom, PSIM, PLC and structured cabling systems

Review architectural, electrical, telecommunication, security engineering floor plans, riser drawings, device schedules, detail drawings, interconn! ect and closet layout drawings.

Interpret specifications, adde! ndums, revisions, sketches and Scope of work.

Work with implementation coordinators on post sales kick-off meetings

Work with pre and post sales IT professionals on technology design inputs.

Work with project managers and design engineers for creating change orders on existing and ongoing projects

Design & Build engineered security system for clients including but not limited to:

Client Requirements

Local, National, International, Building, Fire and design code regulations

Security consultant requirements

General contractor requirements

Construction contractor requirements

Able to provide or request information from specifications if required in order to provide a complete and accurate estimate

Manage assigned projects and maintain deadlines for each project

Communicate with the respective sales person and or department involved in assigned projects

Build and! maintain a good relationship with coworkers, suppliers and manufacturers

Aid in the proposal creation process in acquiring datasheets, installation manuals, A&E specifications, device drawings, wiring diagrams and technical information

Develop a basic scope of work for subcontractors when requesting pricing for projects

Create a detailed list of clarifications, exclusions & compliance on a per project basis

Able to negotiate better pricing from sub-contractors, distributors and or manufacturer representatives

Basic knowledge of computer operations in using Outlook, Word and Excel etc

Knowledge of construction schedules, project meetings and how they pertain and impact the project

Able to research product information utilizing the internet

Qualifications:
In depth knowledge of industry leading security system and equipment providers. Certified with major enterprise level security/access contr! ol systems; i.e. Hirsch, Lenel, Software House, CASI, AMAG and CCTV pro! viders, Bosch, Pelco, AXIS

In depth knowledge of National Electrical Code and Industry Security Standards, National and Local Codes. CAD and advanced computer applications

Excellent overall technical skill in electronics and electrical fields

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs such as PowerPoint, word and Excel

Decision-making and problem-solving ability

Ability to read and understand technical information and diagrams

Detail oriented

Ability to multi-task

Strong time management skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams

Ability to work within a high energy sales environment with multiple time constraints

Ability to handle non-routine, standard projects and other tasks

Demonstrated experience in team leadership and associate ment! oring

Associates or Bachelor's Degree in the field of Engineering

Applicable amount of experience in the appropriate field may be substituted for the educational background
