Who We Are:

MidMichigan Community Health Services is a federally qualified rural community health center (FQHC) based in Houghton Lake, Michigan. We provide primary and specialty health care for all, with a particular emphasis on access for the underserved.

We are headquartered in beautiful Houghton Lake, Michigan! Northern Michigan has an abundance of year-round activities for all. Our community offers great fishing, beautiful parks and beaches and is home to the largest inland lake in Michigan! Exploring Northern Michigan will provide the opportunity to explore wonderful parks, great public beaches which include swimming, playground equipment, barbecues and pavilions. From fishing to disc golf, our local parks are sure to provide fun for all. Additionally, the area provides plenty of hiking and nature trails, and over 200 miles of ORV trails.

Our organization was founded by concerned residents in the early 1970s to address the severe shortage of primary care in our area. We are still run by a local volunteer board of directors, helping to ensure that our services meet the community's needs.

We offer reasonably priced full benefits beginning the first of the month following your hire date, that include medical, dental, vision, short/long term disability, life and AD&D for all full-time employees. General Summary of Duties:

This position acts as the front-line person and coordinates the patient flow process within the facility by registering patients, verifying insurance information, confirming patient demographic information and collecting payments. This role exhibits respect, kindness, compassion, and professionalism to patients, family, and visitors. Must demonstrate excellent customer service to a diverse population.

Non-Clinical Manager

Supervision Exercised:

Some- Expected to work as a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist all patients/visitors.
  • Check in patients while collecting all necessary patient demographic information.
  • Collect/Update all needed patient documentation
  • Assist patients with completion of all documentation.
  • Provide the best patient care at all times.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greeting patients/visitors with a friendly smile/welcoming voice as they enter/exit facility
  • Collection of payment-Handling of cash drawer/balancing at end of each shift
  • Being available for all shifts-3 shifts: 6:30am, 7:00am and 8:30am. (closer stays until last patient leaves)
  • Multitask and problem solving skills.
  • Deal with any issues that may arise/handling situations as first point of contact
  • Knowledge of the facility and difference services that are offered.
  • Assist patients (when needed) with wheelchairs.
