JOB SUMMARY
Director, Value Based Care Performance - BSWQA is responsible for risk contract performance for Baylor Scott and White Quality Alliance (BSWQA), which may include establishing organizational objectives, developing long-range plans, increasing market positioning and differentiation, and identifying new business opportunities. Identifies, investigates, evaluates, and recommends strategic business opportunities that are in line with BSWQA long-range goals, which may include network strategy, new services, new technology, business alliances, joint ventures, acquisitions/divestitures, service line expansion, new care delivery systems, or other strategic opportunities for BSWQA. Develops and implements strategic plans for area of responsibility that will ensure BSWQA meets its business objectives, including continued successful growth and financial results. Leads and conducts environmental scans, organization position analysis, and other studies. Ensures the best use of the BSWQA resources for the establishment of key business objectives. Monitors and evaluates results of existing strategic plans and adjusts as necessary. May conduct special studies for senior leadership in areas such as operational effectiveness, operating cost containment, and technology adoption or assessment. Collaborates and coordinates input from assigned departments to facilitate integration and alignment with BSWQA business objectives and overall strategic plans.

An entity Director translates and implements strategic plans and objectives for area of responsibility. Makes final decisions on operational matters and ensures achievement of objectives. Recommends policies and organizational changes for area. Plans and executes projects and initiatives that meet annual objectives. Erroneous decisions at this level tend to have negative impact on the success of the area, business unit, and possibly the overall organization's operations. Plans and directs the operations of a department or area, with responsibility for staffing, processes, budgets, and costs of the unit. Leads and advises subordinate(s) to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and monitor performance. Has a larger, more complex organization or functional area than a manager. Often has one or more managers or supervisors reporting to the role.This position requires travel to our BSWH Central Texas hospitals and clinics 1-2 days per week and then working remotely from home the rest of the time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
1. Directs performance strategies for the BSWQA risk contracts, including MSSP, MA and Commercial Plans.
2. Recommends and implements strategic and operational plans and priorities aligned to BSWQA overall business objectives.
3. Directs and project manages key initiatives that are critical to the organization and strategic in nature.
4. Builds cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize strategic outcomes, develop comprehensive project plans, and implement high value initiatives.
5. Leads and monitors progress towards simultaneous tasks, assigns resources, communicates with stakeholders, updates senior leadership, and adjusts project tasks and deliverables.
6. Collaborates at various levels of the organization to facilitate action plans for implementation of strategic initiatives, such as new business platforms or improvements of existing high-impact methodology or models.
7. Drives and leads improvement initiatives for large scale, complex business platforms, engaging cross-functional teams at all levels.
8. Drives creation and documentation of new programs and processes for new business endeavors.
9. Uses data from a variety of internal and external resources to present conclusions and recommendations for strategic initiatives.
10. Leads and develops presentation-ready content that communicate the various strategic initiatives to stakeholders, often delivering updates to senior leadership, steering committees, board of directors, board of trustees, and other governing bodies.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
1. Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
2. 3+ years of experience in operations management, program management, or related area.
3. Experience in a leadership role preferred.
4. Experience leading large-scale, strategic initiatives and programs.
5. Healthcare experience preferred .
6. Project management skills.
7. Ability to organize, analyze, and synthesize large sets of data to influence strategic decisions.
8. Excellent written, verbal, and presentations skills
