Scope of the Project:
The Statewide Open Data Initiative will look to develop a web presence for NYS Government open data content. This will initially be built with a few agencies and over time more and more data files will be added from many NYS agencies. Open data promotes more efficiently use of government resources and allows citizens to participate more fully in their government.
Day to day tasks:
- Manage business analysis projects involving the use of a broad range of tools and techniques;
- Elicit, analyze, communicate and validate business requirements using BABOK methodology.
o Analyze the impact of changes to IT system requirements or business processes and evaluate project timelines and priorities;
o Communicate business process requirements to IT staff at all levels in the organization, program staff and stakeholders;
- Collect, document and analyze current or as-is sta! tes of business processes, functions and process models;
- Develop models (i.e., process, data) and associated documents for future or to-be states of large business system projects using industry standard templates;
- Develop test plans and associated test scenarios (scripts and data), execute test scenarios, and document and evaluate test result;
- Monitor changes;
- Maintain business rules and process documentation to align with future state;
- Lead stakeholders to identify, analyze and resolve issues with design specifications before implementation;
- Assess the impact of errors on system functions during and after implementation;
- Write system documentation and train users on new IT system or business process functions.
- 84 months performing Business Systems Analysis on computer application system development projects developing requirements specifications and ar! tifacts according to standard templates, performing process and data analysis and modeling, creating and executing test plans.
- 84 months experience using large-scale relational database systems and/or data quality assurance.
- 36 months hands-on business analysis experience with web based applications.
- 60 months experience using a structured software development lifecycle.
- 36 months performing facilitation, process documentation, and workflows.
- 12 months experience with Business Process Management (BPM) practices and concepts.
- 48 months hands-on experience in data modeling for on-line processing systems.
- 48 months hands-on experience in data modeling for data marts, operational data stores and data warehouses
