Job Description
Come join our client's growing international financial services organization located in Long Island City, Queens as our next Business Development Representative. An incumbent in this position identifies, negotiates and manages strategic relationships with current and potential partners. Identifies growth opportunities in new markets, as well as in existing markets, and develops strategic plans accordingly to increase the company's market share in the Americas; specifically in North America. Manages relationships through the establishment of key contacts with third parties.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and maintain relationships with key individuals at the organization and its affiliated agencies in the Americas; but specifically in North America to facilitate business interactions and business development.
- Maintain a sound understanding of the environment, a! nd keep Senior Management informed of political matters/moveme! nt specific to organization's agencies.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Manager and Corporate Communications Manager when organizing special events and outreach activities in the form of onsite visits (road shows and/or member service visit), presentations/video conferences, promotional activities, including seminars/workshops and other visibility-raising opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Promotional Team to develop and implement marketing initiatives to increase visibility and market penetration; support members of the Marketing Promotional team by providing marketing intelligence.
- Identify high potential markets and develop marketing plans to increase penetration.
- Coordinate marketing activities in conjunction with the promotional team and those within the marketing area to continually raise organizations's awareness/visibility within it's community.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services, as well as knowledge of competitors and competitive products.
- Conduct extensive market research prior to outreach activities on the economic, political and cultural conditions, as well as industry trends and competition surrounding the UN and affiliated agencies in current and potential markets to support and identify likely sales points, and recognize the most effective business development opportunities.
An incumbent in this position must posses excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy; excellent oral and written communication skills; sound problem-solving capability; the ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with other team members; excellent planning skills; good research, analytic skills and a keen underst! anding of business development; creativity and flexibility are also req! uired. Additionally, the incumbent must have a commitment to providing high-quality service in diverse environments. A second language such as French, Spanish or Portuguese is a plus. A typical pathway to obtaining the requisite knowledge and skills is graduation from a university, and a minimum of five years of demonstrable experience in a high-level business development or marketing role preferably in a retail bank environment.
