The Production Manager is responsible for monitoring incoming work orders, raw materials inventory, production status, and product shipments to ensure timely, efficient and cost effective delivery o! f products to the customer.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the filter production area and ensures production goals are met.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the current status of any given work order and of the status of each manufacturing work center and the shipping schedules.
  • Closely coordinate with Corporate Customer Service and the divisional Traffic Department to ensure successful fulfillment of company objectives.
  • Must be aware of the current raw material inventory status and provide timely communication with the Corporate Purchasing Department to prevent stock out conditions.
  • Coordinate all new product introductions into the manufacturing production schedule.
  • Work to develop improvements to the production process.
  • Distribute picking tickets to the division traffic department.
  • Initiate and coordinate any changes made to picking tickets with Corporate Customer Service ! and division Traffic Department.
  • Coordinate all inter! company product transfers with Corporate Purchasing and divisional Traffic Department.
  • Provide feedback to production supervisors and employees as to whether production goals are met.
  • Enforce company disciplinary and safety policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production environment; 1+ years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and mainframe interface.
  • Must be familiar with high volume production scheduling techniques and MRP.
  • Knowledge of filter and/or assembly procedures required.
  • Must have mathematical skills needed to track production numbers and complete daily production paperwork and reports.
  • Must be able to read a tape mea! sure to 1/64 of an inch.
  • Management skills are needed to be able to direct the daily operations of the facility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with employees, management, support staff and vendors.
DECISIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for ensuring that manufacturing/production lines and equipment are in good operating order.
  • Responsible for determining and coordinating manufacturing operations to meet production schedules.
  • Makes decisions and/or recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, terminations, overtime, and work schedules.
  • Supervise each of the Production Planner’s activities with regard to production schedules.
  • Responsible for making sure that all employees follow company safety guidelines in all phases of production.
  • Must be a self starter, willing and able to make sound decisions! and initiate action without counseling or direction.
PHYSIC! AL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May be required to lift up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • May sit at a desk for extended periods to complete paperwork.
  • Must be able communicate on the telephone for lengthy periods.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and keyboard with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses or goggles, particle mask, hearing protection, etc.
  • Must be able to work in both a hot and cold atmosphere depending on weather conditions.
