Description
Global Business Transformation is a high octane consultative group with! in Global Business Services (GBS) focused on maximizing operational efficiencies and optimizing organizational effectiveness across American Express. The Manager of Global Business Transformation will be an integral member of this team, working closely with Senior Management and Business Partners to identify and recommend opportunities for waste eradication, end-to-end process improvement, regulatory compliance, as well as lead initiatives to realize transformational goals.
The Manager will have exceptionally strong strategic thinking and planning skills, the ability to secure key stakeholder buy-in, balanced with a proven track record of delivering tangible results in complex, global, and matrixed work environment. This position is responsible for leading cross-functional project teams throughout the course of the project life-cycle. The Manager will ensure effective application of project management methodology, change control procedures and processes to maintain! control of scope, schedule, and cost.
The success! ful candidate will:
- Perform analysis to validate hypotheses
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership
- Identify, build and syndicate business cases for new transformation opportunities
- Lead and support the execution of multi-BU/cross-functional transformational projects
- Drive projects from initiation to implementation, including setup, staffing, managing scope, schedule, status, and risks to achieve maximum business benefit
- Superior strategic thought leadership
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and partnering skills
- Ability to employ a hypothesis-driven and logical approach to structuring fact-based business plans, that deliver clear conclusions and recommendations
- Talent in handling and synthesizing complex and diverse information
- Ability to drive results, affect change across functions and influence without authority !
- Strong people leadership and executive presence required
- Experience with business strategy development and execution
- Exceptional ability to build strong trusted working relationships with internal and external customers and executive level management
- Problem solving skills, and the ability to employ creative and innovative approaches
- Strong analytical (industry, market, and business) skills
- Robust quantitative skills and use of reengineering techniques
- Consulting experience, specifically with large-scale global projects is a plus
- MBA preferred
