Cornell University Library seeks an Associate University Librarian for Administrative Services to lead its financial, human resources, and facilities opera! tions. It supports and enhances faculty and student productivity through its extensive collections, cutting-edge services and facilities, and a deep network of digital resources. The Associate University Librarian for Administrative Services is the chief financial and administrative officer for the Cornell University Library, which is comprised of 18 physical and virtual Ithaca campus based libraries. The AUL has responsibility for the budget, financial, human resource, and facilities operations of the library system, which has an annual budget of $58 million and 380 academic and non-academic employees. Repor! ting to the University Librarian, the position oversees a staf! f of twenty three including four direct reports. As a member of the library’s senior management team, the AUL is actively involved with strategic planning, priority setting, and resource allocation for the system. The AUL collaborates closely with the individual college business officers and represents the library on all financial and administrative matters with the university administrative offices.

Qualifications

·

Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent plus seven years or more of administrative leadership experience;

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and effect change, and to work collaboratively;
  • Sound judgment in handling confidential matters;
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills;
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills as well as exceptional oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills; and
  • Proficiency with! standard desktop tools and business applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Successful experience of increasing responsibilities in a higher education/university setting strongly preferred; and
  • Familiarity with Cornell is desirable.
