My client, a global, multi-billion-dollar manufacturing company, has several openings for Automation Engineers at its flagship manufacturing faci! lity, located near Syracuse, NY, due to ongoing plant expansion programs worth hundreds of millions of dollars. My client is seeking motivated, self starters to be a part of their Plant / Manufacturing Automation team. The Automation Engineers are responsible for support, enhancements and continued development of our Plant / Manufacturing Automation Systems. The successful candidate will act as the technical lead, as well as an individual contributor on these engagements, contributing to software architecture design, development of software applications, and integration into enterprise systems. Duties include:
Maintenance of existing automated systems
Application of mature engineering knowledge in planning and conduc! ting projects having a scope for independent accomplishment an! d coordination of responsible assignments
Application of state-of-the-art technology and techniques to resolve complex engineering problems
Performs special study programs involving technical data of a complex nature
Support manufacturing by working closely with the Operations, Engineering and Process Groups
Direct vendors and consultants
Involvement in equipment, operator and maintenance training programs
Promote external contacts with other operations research groups as necessary
Must be willing to keep current with the ever-changing technology, balancing it with the needs of the operations to bring forth improvements in process control, process automation and process management systems and methods Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident. My client cannot provide Visa sponsorship.
BS in Electrical, Software Engineering or related discipline or minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing automation field. The com! pany will consider entry-level applicants if they're academic studies included any of the requirements listed below, particularly SCADA, Wonderware, C#, and.net development.
Experience in HMI/SCADA systems a must.
Experience with WonderWare HMI systems a big plus.
Strong communication skills required.
Must have software skills in software analysis, design, methodology, and architecture.
Understanding of TCP/IP networks Desired Qualifications is required.
Programming experience in software development with Microsoft Visual Studio / Development tools and C# or VB.Net programming is preferred.
Experience with SQL programming and relational databases preferred.
Experience in building client/server applications is preferred.
Experience in multi-threaded applications development is preferred.
Experience working in an IT environment or organization is required.
Experience in Windows operating system management and configuration as it per! tains to a networked manufacturing environment is preferred.
