Reporting to the Dean, the Asso! ciate Dean is responsible for assisting the Dean with ensuring the proper running of the Developmental Education and Academic Support Programs at the College’s online and onsite campuses.
Major responsibilities include: works with the Developmental Education faculty on curriculum improvement and continuous program assessment of Berkeley College’s pre-college programs; collaborates with the Academic Support Center’s Online and Onsite Directors to provide tutoring, testing and study skills workshops on every campus; ensures the ongoing evaluation and development of peer and professional tutors; and, collaborates with the faculty and other student support services departments to provide meaningful academic support to all to students, especially those who are most at-risk.
Requirements:
The selected candidate for this position should have a minimum of a master’s degree in developmental education, English education, math education or a! related field, as well as have extensive experience in develo! pmental education and academic support at the post-secondary level. Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching and administrative experience; strong technology, organizational and management skills; and, the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively. Local travel is required.
