Promotes patient flow in both the clinical and clerical areas to provide care appropriate to the patient’s age.Perform tasks and responsibilities within the framework of medical information gathering, health teaching, health counseling and provision of supportive care under the direction of a registered professional nurse or licensed physician, dentist or other licensed health care provider legally authorized under this title and in accordance with NYS Department of Health regulations.Adheres to current Kaleida policies and standards of practice.
Mi! nimum or Preferred Qualifications
Applied Associates ! Degree in Medical Office Assisting required. Certification/Registration required through either American Association of Medical Assistants or American Medical Technologists. If not certified upon hire to the position must obtain within one (1) year of taking the position. Once certified/registered through AAMA or AMT the employees may maintain their certification through the American Registry of Medical Assistants. One year medical office setting experience preferred. Basic computer skills test required. Data Entry skills test required.
