The Manager/Associate Manager Medical Scientific - Clinical functions as a field-based member of SkinMedica R&D, reporting into Director, Scientific Communications. Managers/Associate Managers Medical Scientific - Clinical are scientifically trained professionals with strong clinical and/or scientific backgrounds. Develops and maintains professional relationships with internal and external customers to provide comprehensive medical and scientific support related to SkinMedica products. Facilitates information exchange, education, and research activities for physicians and ancillary healthcare professionals regarding current and future therapies in development or commercialized by SkinMedica, an Allergan Company.
Works closely with other SkinMedica personnel to ensure information, education, and research needs of healthcare professionals are met. Collaborates with Clinical Development, Medical Af! fairs and commercial colleagues to ensure scientific and technical training initiatives are supported and aligned with the SkinMedica Global Scientific Strategic Communication plan.
Develops and maintains strong scientific knowledge of the current competitive landscape and future product entries. Serves as internal medical and scientific resource responsible for developing communications and other materials supporting product information. Supports the use of SkinMedica products through KOL advocacy development and implementation of peer influence programs.
Upon request, presents data on SkinMedica products to healthcare professionals including physicians, academic institutions, researchers, and other health care professionals. Upon request, provides approved information to clients to ensure access to current medical and scientific information as necessary. The Manager/Associate Manager Medical Scientific - Clinical serves as a scientific advisor to SkinMed! ica in the evaluation of new products and technologies under considerat! ion for portfolio enhancement/expansion. Supports Round Table and Advisory Board sessions to ensure accuracy of and clinician access to up-to-date scientific and clinical data. Represents and supports SkinMedica at scientific congresses and/or symposia and prepares daily reports to SkinMedica personnel.
- Advanced Clinical/Science degree or professional credentials required (MD, PhD, PharmD, or other equivalent clinical background/experience)
- Minimum of 3 years relevant scientific clinical experience within a Skincare, *Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Clinical and/or Academic Research environment
- Ability to think creatively and conceptually
- Ability to develop and execute key strategies
- Strong analytical skills and presentation skills
- Strong problem resolution skills
- Experience performing research and/or analyzing clinical research data
- Experience in medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, plastic ! surgery or applicable biological science preferred
- Proven ability to develop relationships with physicians and other Healthcare Professionals
- Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
- Approximately 60-70 % travel schedule is required
