As a Grounds Person, you will assist the Grounds Crew in the safe operations of general tree care. A Plus Tree specializes in the removal, pruning (trimming), and health of trees in urban areas. You must have a passion for safety and a desire to work in an exciting environment. We are looking for candidates who have the capacity to learn new skills, including the use of equipment large and small, and be willing to become certified tree climbers!
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out all maintenance duties allocated by the Foreman.

Watch for pedestrians.- Set up cones for traffic safety and drop zones for climber/bucket operators.
- Spot drivers as they back up vehicles and equipment.
- Pole, prune, rig down material for climbers, and keep rig and climb lines clear of brush.
- Load and chain down equipment on trailers.
- Chip material, rake, and blow leaves.
- Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions.
- Assisting with tree removals, pruning, and debris disposal.
- Learning techniques and the proper use of tools from senior or more experienced crew members.
- Fueling and warming up saws and equipment.
- Ensuring all work sites are kept clean and free of hazards.
- Inspecting equipment and tools and performing repairs and maintenance when required
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Passionate about tree work, service, and people
- No experience is required, but previous experience as a tree grounds worker is a plus
- A team player who has a good attitude and keeps pace with the crew
- Outdoor enthusiast! You will be working outdoors come rain or shine
- Hard-working, reliable, honest, and able to report for work regularly and punctually
- Qualify as "Ground Technician 1" with basic industry skills and knowledge within the first 6 months of employment required
- Ability to lift 75 or more pounds.
- Must be at least 18 years.
