Based in Dallas, Steward currently operates 33 hospitals across Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.Position Summary:
Responsible for the facility’s Quality Resource Management Department activities and acts as the ISO representative for assigned facilities. Those activities include performance improvement and review of utilization of resources for the hospital and medical staff. Activities also include case management, discharge planning, interim coding activities. Interdisciplinary Teams, infection control, and educational activities for the hospital and staff. The director is a member of the hospital’s Organizational Performance Improvement Council, UR committee, and reports at the medical, surgical, STAR, and special care committees as well as the MEC and BOT. Oversees responsibility for all regulatory surveys i.e., DNV State Licensing Review, HCFA Validation surveys, etc. The Director is responsible for planning and budgeting all department activities.
Key Responsibilties:
Is responsible for assuring that all staff in the department who are charged with assessment of appropriate levels of care rendered and services provided are competent and able to provide care relevant to age of patients served.
Maintain an ongoing rapport with other departments. Works with other departments to maintain effective, on-going performance improvement programs.
Develops, reviews, revises, and implements Quality Management Policies and Procedures, ensuring that employees are informed and have access to such.
Ensures Quality Resources Management staff are meeting the hospital’s requirements for orientation, training, and continuing education.
Manages the financial operations of the department, including the budgeting and expense management of both the operating and capital budget.
Assures compliance with regulatory agencies such as DNV, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and OSHA.
Trains and educates Hospital Directors and staff to the ISO requirements.
Serves as a resource person for the hospital and medical staff in Performance Improvement.
Participates as a member of the Hospital Quality Council, Safety Committee, and Infection Control Committee.
Maintains an excellent rapport with patients, physicians, and families; effectively promotes harmonious interpersonal relationships with physicians, staff, and others throughout the hospital. Addresses patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.
Uses good judgment and weighs alternatives in making sound decisions. Gains respect of others through ideas,
opinions, and abilities.
Displays leadership ability. Trains, guides, and develops subordinates. Demonstrates the ability to capitalize on
an employee’s strengths. Is effective in disciplining employees. Effectively supervises subordinates in a way that increases productivity and employee morale. Writes fair and objective evaluations of subordinates.
