Customer Funding Specialist - Central Time Zone

JOB PURPOSE:
The Customer Funding Specialist (CFS) provides outstanding and professional customer service to ensure efficiency and promote a positive customer experience. This role manages customers financial information and provides assistance with their coverage, financial obligations, ability to pay, and education on processes related to Insurance coverage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the department process from intake through billing.
  • Responsible for determining eligibility, and ensuring customers meet their financial obligation and offering options where applicable.
  • Records and maintains complete documentation of activities performed on account.
  • Advises customers on matters related to eligibility, coverage, deductibles and any financial responsibility they might have.
  • Participates in data gathering for financial reporting
  • Sets up arrangement/monthly installments plans for customer payoff balances
  • Collects and process payments for out-of-pocket amounts
  • Creates detailed notes in the system to reflect all actions performed on the account
  • Consistently maintains, analyzes and updates financial information on the customers accounts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to show compassion to our customers.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in financial counseling, billing and/or funding.
  • Medical terminology knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 coding helpful.
  • Must have enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • Must have an eye for details and the ability to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to remain focused while handling multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multitask is Key.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel is a plus.
  • Inbound Outbound Call Center Environment
