Description: Weill Cornell Medical College is currently interviewing Administrative Director, Bioinformatics Initiative right now, this career will be placed in New York. Under direction, develops and oversees the plans for the creation of a new Weill Cornell Medical College Bioinformatics Core and for the implementation, utilization and financial budgeting of shared infrastructure and collaborations of the ICB, in the context of the academic activities of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics; plans a functional administrative and business model for a new Core Facility, the BIC, accessible to faculty whose projects from Applied Bioinformatics in a manner that facilitates the operation f the Core; develops policies and standard operation procedures and oversees it administratively when established; plans, establishes and oversees when implemented, a functional model for shared usage and cost recovery for new eRGAPS data storage and analysis facility funded by NIH; planes, establishes and oversees administratively, a comprehensive administrative and business model for the shared use of the infrastructure of the ICB, and for collaborative arrangements of ICB faculty; coverts strategic goals into annual regularly monitored budgets and administers shared facilities; develops and maintains yearly the Annual Report for the ICB and the Department of Physiology and Biophysics according to guidelines; performs other job related duties as required.

Qualifications

At least ten years professional experience in academic medical institutions that demonstrates significant experience in administration of grants and sponsored programs with an emphasis on basic and translational research required; Master’s degree preferably in Healthcare administration, experience in management of large projects or center grants and a record of significant accomplishments managing a complex organization, department, or research programs, in an academic medical center environment preferred.
