Agata & Valentina, one of New York City’s premier and growing Italian specialty food stores seeks a professional, experienced and talented Executive Chef focusing on Italian cuisine. We are looking for someone who is passionate about food, a strong leader and takes pride in providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has the ability to lead a kitchen / commissary team, has strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment where there is plenty of growth potential. This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative, creative Executive Chef.Must be / have:A minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive ChefExperience in managing and supporting multiple retail locationsFamiliarity in operating a commissaryStrategic thinker and has the know how to execute and implement a strategyKnowledge of recipe writing, costing and inventory controlTraining and supervisory experience a mustStrong knowledge and experience preparing Italian cuisineExcellent organizational skills, flexibility with work schedule and optimistic, energetic attitudePlaces a premium on quality ingredients and quality productsExcellent cooking skills, with the ability to relate to, lead, motivate and supervise peopleWorks well under pressure in a high volume environmentAbility to communicate well with a positive, can do, attitudeFlexible Schedule (available to work all shifts including weekends)Ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized kitchenAbility to maintain proper food and labor costAgata & Valentina is an Equal Opportunity employer.
