Description: Antea Group is currently seeking to employ Health and Safety Professional right now, this vacancy will be placed in New York. Antea Group USA, inc. is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, health and safety professional for our Syracuse, New York office. This safety-sensitive position reports to a project manager and will support project teams on a variety of project assignments including:

Develop and implement EHS management systems such as OSHA VPP, OSHAS 18001, and ISO 14001

Plan, manage and conduct industrial hygiene monitoring programs (i.e.: air sampling, noise monitoring, etc.).

Provide on-site industrial hygiene and health and safety services at client locations.

Conduct occupational exposure or area monitoring and other related field survey and health and safety audit duties.​

Develop, write, and implement health, safety, and environmental programs and procedures, conduct field sampling, monitoring and auditing activities, hazard analysis, and training.

Prepare and review written programs, job hazard analyses, PPE assessments, and other health and safety program elements.

Perform fieldwork required for compliance activities such as calibrating and operating equipment for taking air samples and monitoring personnel exposure, making mathematical calculations, obtaining media, submitting samples for laboratory analysis, collecting relevant data, observing field situations, and documenting events.​

Perform surveys of work places and evaluates data to determine compliance with OSHA and/or EPA regulations or prepare hazard analyses.​ Reviews data, drafts and finalizes reports.

Prepare and present training on a variety of environmental, health and safety topics.​

Perform ergonomic evaluations for job tasks and support the development and implementation of solutions.

Develop and conduct Job Hazard Analysis programs.

Conduct audits and evaluate the effectiveness of EHS management systems and site activities.

Position is full-time with up to 50% local and regional travel anticipated.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a science related field.

2 â€" 6 years of industrial hygiene experience including experience with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) related work place evaluations.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in consulting and in general industry/manufacturing.

ASP, CSP or CIH certification desired.

Strong working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local Environmental, Health and Safety regulations including OSHA, NFPA, MSHA, DOT and EPA standards.

Knowledge of ACGIH and NIOSH standards.

“Hands-on” experience with developing health and safety programs including lockout tagout, hazard communication, hearing conservation, confined space, electrical safety, behavior based safety, fall protection, powered industrial vehicles, respiratory protection, cranes and hoists, and job safety analysis

Knowledge of the techniques and methods utilized in conducting industrial hygiene investigations

Use testing and measuring equipment for noise, toxic and nuisance substances, and harmful physical agents

Strong mechanical, organizational and communication skills

Able to work independently, with an attention to details

Potential employees must pass a company-paid physical examination, drug-screen and have a valid driver's license

Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access and Power point
