The Director Sales & Partner Relations, is responsible for defining and then executing on the vision and strategy to position Dolby for driving growth within the assigned accounts and territory.
As the head of our New York Office you will have a unique opportunity to build upon your existing senior level relationships with major content companies and other strategic partners in the region, with the goal of expanding the general awareness of Dolbyâs platforms and solutions within the content community and accelerating the adoption and deployment of Dolby technologies, products, and services across multiple ecosystems (Broadcast, Mobile, Online) from content creation, distribution, and playback. This role is also responsible for working closely with the Content Services team covering for the Eastern United States and Canada.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 (ten) years in a combination of strategic sales, marketing, and business development experience representing media technologies and or products related to digital content delivery services to content creators, Networks, Programmers, Aggregators and Operators.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain trusted relationships spanning the executive, commercial and technical teams of key media companies and strategic partners in the New York / Eastern US region, which includes broadcast networks, programmers, post production houses, major studios, independent producers/distributors, music labels, and content aggregators..
- Actively networks to identify key industry contacts to facilitate ongoing Sales and Market development activities on behalf the broader Dolby organization.
- âVoice of the customer and marketâ within Dolby, through frequent contact and direct meetings with major content companies and other strategic partners. You will regularly report on the account status, market trends, competitive analysis, and account feedback to help with the future development of solutions and services to meet the needs of the marketplace.
- Collaborates with Sales and Content Relations Colleagues and other cross functional teams on strategy development efforts, prioritization of opportunities, and account engagements to maximize impact of overall efforts
- Develops and maintains key account plans and profiles
- Represents Dolby at key conferences to uncover new opportunities and to enhance Dolby position and relevance in the marketplace
- Work with PR and Marketing to identify opportunities to build greater visibility and awareness of Dolbyâs audio and video solutions and services with content producers, post production community, distributors, emerging new media companies, and key external partners; leverage Dolbyâs New York screening rooms and production facilities to advance our standing within the marke
- Liaison with the New York Content Services team to help lead, develop and implement service offerings.
- 10+ years of Strategic Sales and Business Development experience within the New York / Eastern US region within the Broadcast / Digital Media industry with a proven track record in successful strategic sales, marketing, and business development, with significant experience representing media technologies and or products related to digital content delivery services to content creators and aggregators.
- Passionate about content with a strong and ongoing desire to understand, track and speak to the dynamic trends happening constantly with consumer entertainment services, its consumption and new use cases and the impact all of this has and will have on the companyâs and ecosystems that create, distribute and playback premium content to consumers.
- Familiarity with content distribution windows and comfort with related technologies including cinema, Blu-ray, VOD, IP streaming/downloading, broadcast, and mobile.
- Familiarity with post production/encoding/media servicing workflows preferred but not required.
- Creative problem solver capable of developing, proposing and executing on business concepts and deal proposals.
- Ability to think and act strategically with strong problem solving, analytical, negotiating skills.
- Proven skills in prioritizing and managing many simultaneous, strategic engagements with multiple accounts, with a proven record of exceptional customer follow-up.
- Ability to engage with key leadership along with good influencing/facilitating skills thereby able to work collaboratively with business/technology groups across the organization.
- Outstanding communication skills for effective interactions at executive levels.
- Naturally able to network, build and maintain relationships; existing up-to-date in-depth network of contacts throughout the digital content delivery ecosystem
- Outstanding leadership skills
- High-ambiguity tolerance and comfort with matrix reporting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal.)
- MBA preferred; BA/BS required.
