Provide support in tax researching, tax return preparation and tax planning.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
1. Review book financials and convert fro! m accrual basis to cash basis. Review work papers and returns prepared by others.
2. Review all elements of sales tax procedures to ensure proper collection and/or paying of correct rates on a timely basis.
3. Prepare taxes/tax return packages and tax projections and perform planning.
4. Account for sales tax compliance and planning.
5. Perform tax research and planning.
6. Provide support to hotel managers regarding tax matters.
7. Provide tax audit support.
8. Respond to taxing authority inquiries
Relationships
Reports to Director of Tax; communicates with accounting department.
Physical Requirements
Normal dexterity required in office environment including hand-eye coordination, walking, sitting, standing, alertness (attention to detail) and answering of phones. Computer input; May require lifting of boxes weighing up to 25 pounds to obtain filed information
Knowledge, ! Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and orga! nizational skills. Bachelor’s degree paired with additional education such as a Graduate Tax Certificate program. Experience in accounting; sales tax, general tax preparation.
