Resource Center for Independent Living, Inc. (RCIL), an independent, non-profit, human rights and service organization offering a wide range of integra! ted community based independent living and advocacy services for and - most importantly - by people with disabilities, seeks an Executive Director. Working closely with city, county, state and federal governments, citizens, human service agency partners and philanthropic and corporate partners, RCIL strives to provide quality, consumer-controlled, self-directed, community-based services.
This position is an opportunity for a visionary leader to combine keen management and financial skills to lead RCIL while keeping the commitment to the core values of the organization. RCIL believes that the widespread poverty, segregation, and isolation of people with disabilities is unacceptable, should not be tolerated, and requires change.
The Executive Director will report to a board of directors comprised of consumers, civic officers, citizens, professional services and corporate leaders. The Director will be responsible for a yearly operating budget of more than $30! million and a staff of over 1,800 highly-skilled and deeply c! ommitted professionals.
RCIL seeks a leader with entrepreneurial spirit and a wide range of, financial, managerial, and fundraising skills necessary to build the organization's capacity while ensuring that programs and services are effectively executed and properly evaluated. The Executive Director must have a proven track record and demonstrated commitment to human rights. Ten to 15 years of relevant leadership experience is required and an advanced degree is preferred.
