Application Support Analyst

Location: New York New York

Description: Starpoint Solutions is in need of Application Support Analyst right now, this job will be placed in New York. Position is to support client's technical environment and business applications for about 450 client resources in 45 offices in 9 states. Users are generally nurses and social workers, an! d are not technical, so patience and ability to explain things in non-technical terms is important.

Duties:
Support on-site and remote users on the use of a proprietary heavily database-driven web-based application

Help configure the application to meet business needs â€" access rights, new users, new roles, and use of various application utilities.

Develop application end-user documentation and training materials as needed.

Willingness to provide off-hours support on a rotating basis.

In addition, provide desktop support as needed: Blackberry’s, MS Office Software, phone systems, printers, and networked copiers

This position will be mostly phone and email support, but could involve some domestic travel to support remote offices.

Job Requirements:
Application Support Analyst

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in computer H! elp Desk support.

Strong written and oral communicati! on skills are required via e-mail, over the phone and in-person.

Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment.

Skills Required:
Must have experience supporting database driven enterprise systems. Functional knowledge of clinical web-based applications a plus.

Strong background in help desk ticket/issue management

Comfort and ability to work directly with end users, including the ability to translate technical terms into non-technical language.

Ability to ascertain the criticality and priority of incoming requests.

Ability to quickly learn new processes and procedures.

Experience with the following is a plus:
Microsoft Office 2010, Blackberry Enterprise Server and Blackberry OS software and hardware, business telephone systems and basic networking concepts

Exchange Server, Active Directory, MS Server 2003/2008, Citrix or other terminal emulation products.

Basic SQL ! programming and data modeling

Cultural and Soft Skills Required

candidates with solid varied technical experience

stable work histories (prefer FT backgrounds, and no gaps)

solid education from a recognizable school

ideal candidates will have 5 - 11 years overall experience
