Position Description:
- Oversee Actuarial Rate Filing/New Product Development team. Ensure Rate Filing protocols are being followed. Ensure adherence to filing schedules and prompt responses to rate objections. Ensure pricing models and raters are technically sound and reviewed/updated regularly. Incorporate Risk Adjusted Profitability targets.
- Produce pricing analysis of A&H accounts/segments within agreed timeframes and pricing authorities granted.
- Monitor and report on loss ratio performance. Review product experience versus statutory minimum loss ratios. Assist Statutory Comptrollers in reporting of Medical Loss ratios as required. Report performance at granular level (account/program) so that underwriters can optimiz! e performance.
- Develop quarterly loss reserve recomme! ndations.. Work with Corporate Finance Actuaries to adhere to Corporate loss reserve standards and protocols. Provide estimates of other financial accruals. Provide profit center management/FPA in analysis of quarterly result including prior year/period development, other trends.
- Provide loss ratio for budgets, forecasts.
- Lead the A&H Actuarial team. Recruit and train staff members, ensure their career develop to the best of their abilities.
- Credentialed member of Society of Actuaries/ Casualty Actuarial Society or equivalent experience
- Proven proficiency in actuarial pricing and loss reserving concepts/methodologies
- Thorough understanding of general insurance including underwriting policies, claims handling policies and regulation
- Knowledge of PC and mainframe environments
- Proven management and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to Business ! partners to enhance their decision-making ability
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities to tight deadlines
