Part Time Prototyping Lab Technician

Description: The New School is at the momment seeking for Part Time Prototyping Lab Technician right now, this position will be placed in New York. Parsons the New School for Design is seeking a part time technician to assist in the 3D printing, scanning, and laser cutting labs. This position work hands on, h! elping student to operate various equipment related to 3D printing and laser cutting. The part time technician will help oversee online reservations and help manage student staff along with maintaining, upgrading and repairing lab equipment as needed.
Starting date: immediately. This is a part time position, up to 20 hours per week,evening/night shifts required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must have a high level of knowledge in both AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator, and experience working with laser cutters. Candidate must have experience working in a lab or shop setting. Detail oriented, and the ability to quickly multi-task a must, as are both PC and MAC skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with students in a higher education setting and previous experience working with Maker-Bots or other 3D printing related software and hardware.
