As a Senior Director of Enterprise Risk Services, you will be a key leader within the external advisory organization of Moody’s Analytics, managing a team of functio! nal consultants. You will help direct analytically oriented consulting engagements with major banks, insurers, and other financial institutions throughout North America. When all is said and done, you will help a wide range of financial firms solve their foremost challenges related to financial risk, including deal origination, valuation, portfolio management, and regulatory compliance.

You will have opportunities to meet with clients and build and nurture business relationships. During a typical advisory engagement, you will begin by helping the client precisely understand the issue or challenge at hand. Working with your team, you will then apply your experience and expertise to design an appropriate solution. You will manage a team of consultants, leading the overall effort, coordinating with the client, and ultimately implementing your recommendations.

An effective Senior Director should be able to manage a team of functional specialists in a fluid, fa! st-paced environment. You should have a solid understanding of! the current issues and challenges facing the financial industry (e.g. liquidity risk, stress testing, sovereign risk, counterparty risk, management of big data, and so forth). You will have opportunities to deepen your existing experience while moving into new and interesting topics at the forefront of the financial industry.

Qualified applicants should have prior experience in the fields of banking, insurance, consulting, audit, and/or financial regulation. They should also enjoy work that is highly stimulating and thought provoking but also not routine. Over time, a successful Senior Director can move into more prominent leadership roles within the Services, Research, and/or Software Groups of Moody’s Analytics.

This position is ideally suited for a person who has been working at a senior level in a financial firm for the past 5-10 years but is now eager to move beyond the same issues and the same predictable environment. Through this position, you wi! ll be exposed to senior professionals across the financial industry and within Moody’s Analytics, and you will have opportunities to gain skills and experience with an organization that has turned out some of the most respected thought leaders in the industry.

Specific responsibilities include the following:
·

Lead a team of consultants. Attract, retain, develop and motivate a team of qualified professionals who advise on topics related to financial risk.

·

Oversee relationships with clients. Help acquire, nurture, and grow client relationships. Lead senior-level discussions with clients.

·

Help diagnose and evaluate clients’ issues and concerns. Draw upon knowledge of industry practice to develop solutions that meet clients’ expectations for quality, rigor, time, and budget.

·

Provide thought leadership and technical guidance. Determine innovative yet pragmatic approaches to solvin! g complex and demanding problems in the realm of financial risk managem! ent.

·

Oversee the intellectual content of proposals, publications, presentations, and statements of work. Ensure that ideas are sensible, rigorous, and defensible. Review outputs for overall quality and soundness.

Help

develop new service offerings. Identify topics of interest to clients and harvest ideas from prior projects. Help generate articles and presentations to explain your ideas.

·

Build and maintain a professional network. Nurture and develop meaningful relationships with senior decision makers and thought leaders across the financial community.

Qualifications

·

Minimum master’s degree or equivalent from an internationally recognized institution; Ph.D., Ph.D â€" ABD, CPA, CFA, PRM, or FRM a plus

·

12+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years at a well-known financial services company or a top-tier consulting firm
·

Advanced technical understanding of financial risk

·

Track record of leading substantial projects with a relationship to financial risk

·

Familiarity with Basel II/III, Dodd-Frank, CCAR, Solvency II, and/or similar regulations governing risk management by financial institutions

·

Experience building or leading a high performing team composed of analytically oriented professionals

·

Experience developing external relationships (i.e., with clients, vendors, strategic partners, etc.)

·

Experience interacting with senior executives (i.e., SVP or MD level and above)

·

Strong orientation towards working in teams

·

Outstanding communication skills â€" ability to explain complex ideas to a range of audiences

·

Evidence of being self disciplined, highly organized, able to multi-task, and attentive to detail

·!

Willingness to travel â€" mainly in the US and Canada â€" app! roximately 40-50% of the time, with necessary clearances / permissions for travel outside the US

·

Minimum fluency in English â€" written and spoken
