We are seeking full time Content Engineer / Web Developer to join our NY engineering team. As a content engineer you will be responsible for programming the bloomingdales.com user interface and ultimately contributing to a high quality customer experience on the website.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and design the presentation layer of the website, ensuring pages are programmed error-free, cross-browser, cross-platform and optimized for download performance
- Perform qua! lity assurance on all new code from inception through integrat! ion, staging and production environments
- Stay current with the newest online technologies; research new technologies and make recommendations on implementations
- Collaborate effectively with content engineering team as well as creative, marketing, merchandising and server engineering teams; provide technical advice and guidance about template design, browser limitations and technology
Skills/Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field
- 1-3 years professional Internet work experience
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS3
- Extensive experience with JavaScript (Inheritance, Closures, etc.)
- Experience with jQuery, RequireJS, Foundation, Backbone, Handlebars
- Experience in designing and implementing responsive layouts
- Experience with Java technologies (JSP/JSTL)
- Strong working knowledge developing cross platform/browser compatibility (IE! , Firefox, Safari, Chrome etc.) for dynamic web applications.
- Good troubleshooting skills including multi-browser compatibility issues
- Experience with Git and non-distributed Version Control systems (CVS, SVN, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple projects effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and persuasion skills
- Knowledge of NodeJS a plus
- Knowledge of Underscore a plus
- Knowledge of SASS a plus
