Support communities across Vermont play a locally-led, leadership role in meeting the state’s necessarily ambitious clean energy and climate targets, primarily by helping to support, strengthen and expand the network of all-volunteer town energy committees. In this role, you will have unparalleled opportunities to serve Vermonters – collaborating with diverse partners – to help communities identify and advance their energy-saving, renewable energy, transportation-transformation priorities. Member will receive a living allowance of $25,500 (pre-tax), and an education award of $6,895 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Member Duties : • Support VT’s network of town energy committees thru technical assistance, networking, information-sharing & capacity building. The member will serve to help strengthen VT’s network of committees. The core components of this service will include 1) communicating w/ members of energy committees on programs, projects & opportunities thru a newsletter, social media, monthly webinars & a statewide list serve, 2) creating/networking/training & information media 3) helping create or promote timely resources, • Organize regional energy network gatherings and other information-sharing, networking and project opportunities • Help to organize & promote the Municipal Energy Resilience Program, transportation transformation initiatives, community solar efforts • Help organize & host VECAN’s Annual Community Energy Conference. • Regularly maintain/update www.vecan.net; a clearinghouse for energy committees. • Participate in VHCB AmeriCorps Events, & Program Initiatives.
