Pioneer Construction is a 20 year established pinnacle in new construction and remodeling, based in Clermont, FL that works throughout the southeastern and midwestern United States.

We are looking for an individual with open availability who can be responsible for the daily operations of multiple commercial and new home construction projects to fill the position of Construction Superintendent.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Scheduling and management of independent contractors
  • Ordering/tracking all material deliveries on site
  • Clear and professional communication with clients, inspectors, and supervisors for status updates
  • Monitor/strictly abide by time and budget deadlines
  • Monitor consistent construction clean up
  • Schedule routine inspections with appropriate authorities
  • Authorize payment for various stages of completion, based on inspections at each stage.
  • Ensure that methods, materials, and work reflect Pioneer Construction Services Inc. quality standards
  • Enforce Corvias and Lendlease GLOBAL MINIMUM RESOURCES, OSHA, and EPA requirements
  • Schedule and organize subcontractors to complete work on a timely basis and complete independent contractor payments
  • Properly execute independent contractor agreements, work orders, and change orders
  • Travel to multiple site locations throughout the duration of the projects to monitor progress and contractors

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check (to gain access to military bases)
  • Open schedule availability and be able to travel up to 70% of the time

  • At least 2 years experience in ground up construction management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to compose effective and efficient reports and correspondence
  • Mathematical skills, including percentages, spreads, margins, etc.
  • Experience with computers/Microsoft systems
  • Multitask in a high-stress environment
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Must be detail oriented

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field beneficial
  • Experience in residential construction
  • Supervisory experience
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification required within 30 days of employment
  • Quality control in the residential industry preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have a personal computer and the hand/eye coordination necessary to operate office business machines (calculator, phone, fax, copier, etc.)
  • Ability to clearly communicate face-to-face and via telephone
  • Physical ability to access/work on irregular surfaces and cramped areas (rough lots, crawl spaces, stairs, attics, roofs, etc.)
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

Pay dependent on experience
