Data Entry Clerk


 

Job Description:

Provides support and various tasks related to the patient record system including customer assistance.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Opportunity for overtime for weekend and holiday coverage.

This role will be responsible for data entry for inpatient reporting. This role is hybrid; primarily remote, but occasional onsite days may be required.

Job Essentials

  • May assist in any capacity to support the department in the coordination of patient care.

  • Greets customers, answers telephone calls, takes messages and forwards calls in a courteous and efficient manner.

  • Distributes and explains paperwork or forms to customers. Collects paperwork or forms from customers ensuring it is complete.

  • Collects, copies or processes items from customers such as forms, insurance cards or payments.

  • Ensures customers requests are triaged and handled appropriately and timely.

  • Responds to requests for information and appropriately processes information per policy.

  • Professionally handles difficult situations with customers and gets appropriate support when needed.

  • Provides clerical support. May assist with the following including but not limited to: sorting and distributing mail, typing, data entry, scheduling appointments, scheduling meetings, order and stocking of maintaining supplies, assembly of files/charts, and scanning.

  • Frequently checks phone messages and emails to address workflow requests efficiently.

  • Maintains a professional image in communication and work space.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks with accuracy and in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated focus on positive customer service.


Preferred Qualifications

  • One year experience in a clerical capacity.

  • One year in a customer focused setting.

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.

  • Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, including manipulating paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

  • See and read computer monitors and documents.

  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$16.16 - $21.01
