Description: Saratoga Hospital is hiring Diabetes Educator- Endocrinology right now, this position will be placed in New York. Detailed specification about this position opportunity please read the description below. Job Summary:
Responsible for providing Medical Nutrition Therapy and Diabetes Education services to patients in individual and group settings. Endocrinology practice based in same office location and primary care providers in the Greater Saratoga region constitute majority of referrals. Individual Medical Nutrition Therapy appointments for a variety of conditions represent majority of work responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics or Foods & Nutrition.
Advanced degree in related field (Nutrition, Public Health, Business Administration) preferred.
At least three years experience in outpatient setting providing effective nutrition and diabetes education services to individuals and groups. Pre-employment Requirements: Registration with The Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD); Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) with New York State Department of Education; Certification as Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) through The National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators; Medicare Provider Number and credentialing through CAQH.
Membership in The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and/or The American Association of Diabetes Educators strongly preferred. Must hold valid NYS driver’s license.
Must have comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy. Must have knowledge of human behavior and techniques for effecting change. Ability to communicated effectively in both written and verbal form to patients, public, medical staff, and physicians. Ability to organize tasks and function independently. Ability to counsel and motivate others, as individuals or groups. General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
