For detail informations about this position opportunity kindly read the description below. Saab Sensis Corporation is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for the Common Radar Upgrade project. The system is being developed under the principles of Open Technology Development, with an emphasis on non-proprietary, modular, open designs. The candidate will work closely with the System Engineering team to develop the software architecture, define the component and interface requirements, and participate in system trade studies. The senior software engineer will be a member of the core system architecture team to ensure adherence and consistency to the overall architecture, or to negotiate modifications as necessary. This will include participating in CSCI design, development and integration reviews, meetings and day-to-day interaction with the architecture development team. A strong emphasis will be placed on the candidates' ability to follow, and improve, Saab Sensis standard development process, as defined by our CMMI registered processes as well as Object Oriented Analysis and Design skills.
The position involves:
Responsibility for the development, management and communication of the system's Software Architecture
Member of System Architecture Team working closely with Lead Hardware and System Engineers on overall system architecture
Determine, document, and enforce methods for complying with desired software development practices (open technology requirements, safety and security, information assurance, metrics tracking, CM release plan, etc.)
Participation in technical meetings and reviews
Ensuring SW team adherence to the CMMI and Saab Sensis SW Development process (including proper documentation and CM related activities)
Supporting the collection and reporting of SW metrics and overall status
Supporting task planning and resource management
Assisting in task planning of existing and future opportunities, and support of all internal/external program meetings
Participation in peer/technical reviews as well as system integration.
Qualifications:
Education required: BS SW Engineering, BSCS, BSCE, or equivalent. MS degree is a plus.
Years of Experience:
8+ years plus relevant engineering experience in software development required
Technical leadership experience is required
Expertise Required:
Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
Real-time software development
Real-time operating systems
Windows and Linux software development
UML models and use cases
C/C++
Middleware
Ability to rapidly prototype concepts to encourage user feedback
Performance tuning, troubleshooting and debugging complex software.
Configuration Management and Requirement Management systems
Clear and concise written and verbal communication with effective time management skills.
Handles responsibility well.
Desired Skills:
Radar signal and data processing
Experience with Matlab/mex
Implementation experience with eXtended Markup Language (XML)
Implementation experience with Interface Design Language (IDL)
