The ability to successfully partner and collaborate with business development and other departments in the organization is a major responsibility. Requires good technical writing skills for both internal and external communications.

This position is also responsible for all corporate technical documentation, supporting all proposal activity and reproduction services. Duties include project planning, tradeshow displays, writing and editing technical and marketing documentation, proposal oversight, management, vendor negotiations, print buying, cost and quality control and overseeing all projects.

Required Skills

Manages staff and major projects

Provides strategic communications counsel to various functions within the company (business development, legal, human resources, business unit leaders, third-party publishing, etc.) creates, develops, implements, and evaluates channel strategies and plans that support the delivery of corporate communications’ strategic objectives across the business. Channels including company websites, publications, videos, corporate branding, social media and philanthropic efforts.

Support Executive leadership and Business Development Departments' Strategic Plan by setting up and assisting with tradeshows and conferences within key regions to support and evaluate Telephonics product. Must be a strategic thinker and have solid business acumen.

Attends industry events and co! nferences to promote the organization’s image.

Work with colleagues across the company to drive and develop content that is on message, on brand, accurate, and tailored appropriately to the business needs, the target audience and channels to be used.

Advise stakeholders on the best corporate communication channels and on content development e.g. crafting messages and stories, use of language, tone of voice, interpreting messages for specific audience groups.

Design and implement communications style guide and release guidelines.

Oversee Telephonics Corporations’ public relations projects, releases, crisis management, and other communications needs.

Assist with the development of appropriate press releases.

Serve as the internal resource for all departments to utilize for review and editing of external communication.

Work together with departments and management to develop, as needed, written corporate commun! ication regarding company history, goals, strategies, or future plans. !

Ensure that all communication meets Telephonics’ global standards.

Collaborates with the Legal Department to develop policies and procedures for external communication.

Develops and manages fiscal year budget.

Required Experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required from a 4 year college or university in a related communications discipline. Masters preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years of corporate communications or creative marketing experience. Must have held a senior level positions and have extensive experience in managing others. Defense/Technical industries experience a must.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to travel up to 25%
