Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Associate Director of Recruitment will collaborate with Department Directors, Parish Pastors, School Principals and the Superintendent of Schools on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. They will need to be able to attract candidates using various sources, including social media networks, employee referrals and by developing partnerships with colleges and universities. The ideal individual holds an academic Human Resources background combined with work experience in screening, interviewing and assessing candidates. Ultimately, the responsibilities of the Associate Director of Recruitment are to ensure our organization attracts and hires the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Design and implement overall recruiting strategy.
- Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications.
- Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives.
- Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges etc.
- Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media etc.
- Screen candidates resumes and job applications.
- Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule.
- Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes.
- Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices.
- Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the rest of the team.
- Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.
- Promote organization’s reputation as “best place to work”.

- Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated communication skills, verbal and written

- Strong organizational and time management abilities; self-starter able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain in an office at a computer workstation and access information from a computer and use a telephone. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the office, as well as maneuver throughout the parish facility to attend meetings, briefings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend meetings or events. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
