The Finance group at AppNexus attracts people with solid finance, accounting, engineering, or mathematical backgrounds as a result of the collegial atmosphere stemming from a diverse and pa! ssionate team dealing with many intellectual challenges. It supports an extremely fast-paced growing pre-IPO technology company which is at the forefront of digital advertising and cloud computing. You’ll be interacting with many areas of the company including Sales, Operations, R&D, HR, and Legal, as well as management at all levels. The Finance group’s responsibilities continue to grow geometrically due to the rapid growth of the business, providing significant opportunities for its members. It measures and reports the drivers for revenue and cost, compiles, journalizes and reports on the Company’s financial statements, devises the firm’s tax strategy, designs its capital structure, manages treasury and foreign exchange transactions, conducts financial planning and analysis through advanced use of statistical and data-mining techniques, evaluates mergers and acquisitions, and assists with a variety of other special projects as needed by the business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Build models for merger and acquisition valuation and post-acquisition operations, working closely with Business Development
Conduct industry research on the digital advertising industry to create insight and to support executives in making strategic decisions
Research the state of the capital market in preparation for the upcoming IPO
Forecast firm-wide capital needs and ensure financial rigor is properly applied to all projects
Inv! estigate anomalies or provide variance explanations through analysis of performance drivers
Create presentations to upper management and the board of directors
Desired Attributes
1 - 3 years of experience in investment banking, investment analysis, or corporate finance at an investment bank or a high growth firm; knowledge of the media industry and online advertising are pluses
Experience working on mergers and acquisitions, equity issuance, or strategic investments in the technology or media industry.
MBA, Bachelor's degree or equivalent with emphasis of coursework of quantitative analysis, preferably engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, economics, or finance
Superior skills in Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized team player
Multitasking skills to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
